Ramallah: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to take seriously the official Israeli incitement to escalate the situation in the West Bank.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry condemned the ongoing home demolitions perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces in camps in the northern West Bank, particularly the threats to demolish more than 60 homes in the Jenin camp. This would entail widespread destruction of the camps, changing their geography, and permanently displacing their residents.
The ministry also condemned the provocative raid carried out by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the West Bank yesterday and his racist, inflammatory statements, which threatened to destabilize and destroy the West Bank.
The ministry added that it views those statements with extreme concern, considering them to be calls for colonial settlement that fall within the framework of perpetuating the occupation and committing further crimes of ethnic cleansing, genocide, annexation, and displacement, undermining any chance of achieving calm and restoring a political horizon for resolving the conflict.
The ministry noted that it is monitoring the occupation's violations, crimes, and genocide against Palestinians with relevant countries and UN bodies, reiterating its call for the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities in halting the genocide and taking the necessary practical measures to implement international legitimacy resolutions, the precautionary orders issued by the International Court of Justice, and its advisory opinion on ending the prolonged occupation.
