Gaza: The Palestinian Ministry of Education announced that 11,923 students have been martyred and 19,199 have been injured since the onset of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, which began on October 7, 2023. According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry detailed that in the Gaza Strip alone, over 11,808 students have been martyred, with 18,596 injured. In the West Bank, the numbers include 115 martyred students and 603 injured. The educational sector has also suffered significant losses, with 561 teachers and administrators martyred and 3,729 injured across the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Additionally, more than 148 individuals have been detained in the West Bank. The Ministry highlighted the destruction of educational infrastructure, noting that 341 government schools, universities, and related buildings, along with 65 institutions affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), have been bombed and vandalized in the Gaza Strip. Of these , 138 structures have sustained severe damage, while 77 have been completely destroyed. The ongoing aggression has left 788,000 students in the Gaza Strip unable to attend schools and universities, with many suffering from psychological trauma and challenging health conditions, as reported by the Ministry of Education.
