Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the assassination of Hamas' Chief of Political Bureau Hamas and considered it a dangerous development. The movement stated on their website that the faction's chief was "killed in a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran, after participating in the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president".
