Seven Palestinians were martyred Monday in Israeli occupation forces shelling of central Gaza Strip. Palestinian sources said that Israeli occupation shelling targeted a group of residents in the town of Al-Zawaida, killing six Palestinians and wounding several others. They pointed out that a young Palestinian man was killed and several others were wounded in artillery shelling targeting Al-Bureij camp, while several injuries occurred in Israeli targeting south of Camp 2 in Al-Nuseirat. A displaced girl was injured in the Shuhada Al-Nuseirat School by a gunshot to the foot from an Israeli drone. Medical sources reported that more than 36 martyrs are the result of Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip since this morning. In a related context, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said that the Israeli occupation is trying to abort the polio vaccination campaign by preventing the campaign teams from reaching the northern Gaza Strip, and placing obstacles to its implementation in Gaza City as well. It stressed that the campaign is at risk of failure, which means the continued existence of the polio epidemic that will not only threaten Gaza, but all surrounding areas. The ministry said that it is working according to what is available, and is studying the existence of alternatives to overcome the obstacles placed by the occupation in the way of the continuation and success of the campaign. Dr. Mohammed Salha, Director of A Awda Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, announced that the hospital is threatened with a complete cessation of service if it is not provided with the medicines, medical supplies and fuel necessary to operate it. He said in a statement that the hospital, in light of the lack of supplies and medical staff, cannot deal with the huge number of cases that need health care and various specialties that are not available in the northern Gaza Strip. He added that the hospital receives dozens of injuries daily despite the health system in the northern Gaza Strip being out of service, calling on the World H ealth Organization (WHO) and relevant organizations to expedite the entry of medicines, medical supplies and fuel to the hospital, so that the process of providing health services to patients in the northern Gaza Strip can be completed. The WHO announced two days ago that the situation in the northern Gaza Strip is "catastrophic" as a result of the intensive military operations carried out by the Israeli occupation forces since the sixth of this month, which target health institutions and surrounding areas.
