Serbian star Novak Djokovic won the gold medal in the tennis singles event for the first time in his history, after defeating Spain's Carlos Alcaraz in the final match of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Djokovic grabbed his first Olympic gold medal after edging Spanish competitor 7-6, 7-6. The Serbian star, who won the bronze medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, today added the Olympic title that was missing in his sports career, bringing his total titles to 99 titles, including a record number of 24 titles in the four Grand Slams. Alcaraz, who won four Grand Slam titles, won the silver medal. Italian Lorenzo Musetti won the bronze medal after coming in third place, defeating Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4, 1-6, and 6-3.
