US officials announced on Thursday that the United States will soon remove the floating water platform it built off the coast of Gaza to deliver aid to the Palestinian enclave, which has suffered from repeated problems. The $230 million floating dock was first installed in mid-May before being dismantled repeatedly due to bad weather. "The port will be decommissioned soon, and we will provide more details on this process and its timing in the coming days," Pentagon spokesman Major General Pat Ryder said in a statement.
