Moscow, The People's Assembly delegation that accompanied the presidential elections in Russia met with Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia, discussing with him ways to strengthen parliamentary bilateral relations. The head of the Syrian-Russian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, a member of the People's Assembly, Bassem Sudan, confirmed that the Russian presidential elections were held in an organized and transparent manner, and witnessed a strong turnout of Russian voters in all regions of Russia, especially in Donbas, pointing out that the Supreme Elections Committee in Russia played its role and secured all means to facilitate the polling. Sudan said that the Assembly delegation accompanied the elections in Moscow and its suburbs, as well as in the Donbas region, where voters participated for the first time in electing the Russian president and exercised their right to express their opinion and their loyalty and affiliation with Russia. Sudan stressed that the scale of the Western and American attack against the Russian elections is evidence that Russia is on the right track, and will inevitably triumph in its confrontation with Western schemes.
