Doha: Peru's Foreign Minister, Elmer Schialer, has highlighted his country's intent to boost economic cooperation with Qatar, particularly in the sectors of mining, food security, infrastructure, and agriculture.
According to Qatar News Agency, Schialer made these comments during a meeting with a Qatari business delegation from the Qatar Chamber, led by its Second Vice-Chairman, Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba. The discussions centered on enhancing commercial and economic relations and exploring investment opportunities available to private sectors in both nations. The Peruvian Foreign Minister invited Qatari investors to explore opportunities in Peru, with a focus on agricultural, food, and halal products.
Al Athba reaffirmed Qatar Chamber's commitment to fostering cooperative relationships between entrepreneurs in Qatar and Peru. He expressed a warm welcome for potential investment partnerships and emphasized the significance of organizing a joint business forum to facilitate collaboration across various fields.
Furthermore, Nasser bin Suleiman Al Haidar, a Board Member of Qatar Chamber, stressed the importance of activating the existing memorandum of understanding between the two chambers. This initiative aims to enhance cooperation and promote business visits between the two countries, further solidifying economic ties.
