Doha: In the aftermath of a ceasefire brokered by Qatar, Egypt, the United States, and Turkiye, Israeli occupation forces have withdrawn from populated areas in the Gaza Strip. As displaced persons return to their cities and towns, the full extent of the tragedies, destruction, and loss of life and property has begun to emerge.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Sharq newspaper highlighted the significant challenges that nearly two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip now face as they embark on the arduous journey of rebuilding. The editorial underscored the necessity for the international community to address the repercussions of the war, with reconstruction being a primary concern. The newspaper stressed that the cessation of war and displacement, made possible by the political agreement, marks the beginning of a new battle for recovery.
Al-Sharq further emphasized the dire situation in the Gaza Strip, where 90 percent of civilian infrastructure lies in ruins, and material losses to vital sectors exceed $70 billion. The newspaper called for genuine and practical solidarity from countries worldwide to aid the afflicted Palestinian people in overcoming the catastrophic effects of the war.
Switching focus to local affairs, Al-Raya newspaper emphasized the significant support and appreciation that the Shura Council enjoys from HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The editorial by the paper's editor-in-chief highlighted the Council's pivotal legislative role in serving the interests and aspirations of the Qatari people. HH the Amir has consistently emphasized the Council's legislative and oversight functions, which are critical to achieving sustainable development and supporting Qatar's comprehensive renaissance in various fields.
Al-Raya noted the recent appointment of 49 members to the Shura Council by Amiri Decree No. 42 of 2025, marking the start of a new legislative phase aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030. The newspaper stressed the importance of the Council's continued legislative efforts to advance development and prosperity across the country.
Meanwhile, The Peninsula newspaper focused on the upcoming 2025 Qatar Airways Formula 1 Grand Prix, scheduled to take place from November 28 to 30 at the Losail International Circuit (LIC). This will be the fourth time LIC hosts Formula 1 races, with events including the Formula 1 race, Sprint Race, FIA Formula 2 Championship, and Porsche Carrera Middle East Cup. The paper noted that LIC is enhancing the fan experience with initiatives like the LEGO "Build The Thrill" experience and sustainability efforts.
