Damascus, President Bashar al-Assad discussed Wednesday with Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, bilateral relations and a number of Arab and international issues during a phone call. The talks dealt with common issues, including enhancing border security and efforts to consolidate it, and cooperation in combating terrorism to serve the interests of the two countries and the peoples of the entire region. President al-Assad and al-Sudani discussed ways to boost cooperation between the two countries in all fields, especially economic ones, in a way that benefits the peoples of the two brotherly countries. The ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and the unification of efforts to stop the crimes of the Israeli entity were also the focus of their attention.
