Doha: President of the Asian Padel Federation, Tariq Zainal, praised the exceptional organization and remarkable success of the first edition of the Asian Padel Championship (Qatar 2025), held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
According to Qatar News Agency, Zainal commended Qatar for hosting the championship with a high level of professionalism and precision, reaffirming its position as a world-class destination for major sporting events. He noted that the tournament's outstanding organization laid a solid foundation for the championship's future editions across the continent.
Zainal emphasized that the technical and competitive standards on display matched the event's exceptional organization, particularly praising the men's and women's finals for showcasing the growing strength and development of padel across Asia.
The championship concluded today, with the UAE national team clinching the men's title after a 2-1 victory over Qatar, while the Japanese women's team captured the women's crown with a 2-0 win over Iran.
"We congratulate the champions and extend our appreciation to the Qatari national team for their impressive performance and silver-medal finish," Zainal said. "Their achievement reflects the tremendous progress and dedication driving the growth of padel in Qatar."
He also expressed admiration for the strong public turnout throughout the tournament, describing it as a clear sign of the sport's rising popularity in Qatar, the region, and across Asia.
