Doha: HE President of the Republic of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh emphasized that Djibouti's participation in the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit signifies a steadfast stance of solidarity with fraternal nations and a commitment to addressing the causes of the Arab and Islamic countries. He underscored the rejection of aggression against fellow states and the need for unity in confronting shared challenges.
According to Qatar News Agency, in an exclusive statement ahead of the summit hosted by Doha, President Guelleh highlighted that an attack on Qatar is a threat not only to Qatar but to collective Arab and Islamic security. He noted that such acts target regional stability and undermine confidence in the nations' ability to safeguard their interests and sacred sites.
The President stressed the importance of a unified Arab position, informed by diplomatic measures backed by strong political will and international consensus, to deter further aggressions. He emphasized the necessity of reinforcing the mechanism for collective deterrence.
President Guelleh commended the wisdom of the Qatari leadership in handling the attack and acknowledged the social unity, along with Arab and Islamic support and solidarity with Qatar. He highlighted that this solidarity is the most powerful tool in confronting aggression.
Concluding his statement, President Guelleh pointed out that the targeting of Qatar is an attempt to weaken Arab and Islamic unity and sow division. However, he assured that the response will counter the aggressor's intentions through strengthened unity, increased cooperation, and consolidated ranks.
