President of Mauritania’s NACA Highlights Qatar’s Role in Global Anti-Corruption Efforts

Doha: President of the National Anti-Corruption Authority (NACA) in Mauritania Jamal Mohamed El Yedali affirmed that the State of Qatar plays a fundamental and essential role at the international level in promoting the fight against corruption.

According to Qatar News Agency, El Yedali, in a statement on the sidelines of the eleventh session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, emphasized that Qatar's active anti-corruption diplomacy reflects its ongoing commitment to the universal values of transparency and integrity.

He noted that Qatar presents a global model in the organization of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, describing the hosting as an exemplary model internationally in managing major events related to combating corruption and promoting transparency.

El Yedali highlighted the conference as an important opportunity for all States Parties to review the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption and to exchange experiences and expertise in promoting transparency and combating corruption at both national and international levels.

He pointed out that Qatar hosted the conference for the second time since 2009, and that the organization was world-class in terms of planning, hospitality, and the smooth running of the conference proceedings. He commended the efforts of the organizing committee in ensuring a conducive environment for dialogue and knowledge exchange among the States Parties.

El Yedali also mentioned that Mauritania actively participates in all reviews and has undertaken several measures to strengthen the implementation of the Convention on the ground. He stated that Mauritania's participation stems from its sincere commitment to implementing international best practices in this field.

Concluding his statement to QNA, El Yedali appreciated the bilateral relations between Qatar and Mauritania, describing the cooperation between the two countries as deep-rooted and longstanding. He expressed hope for strengthening this cooperation in the future, particularly in the field of combating corruption.
