Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani on Monday inaugurated the seventh World Security Forum. Held under the theme "The Impact of Non-State Actors on Global Security," the forum is scheduled to run through April 30.
According to Qatar News Agency, in his opening remarks, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the exceptional importance of the World Security Forum, which is being held at a time when the world needs deep and sincere dialogue and innovative partnerships capable of meeting the challenges of a turbulent world.
His Excellency emphasized the crises extending from Ukraine to Gaza, noting that conflicts have transformed into interconnected phenomena requiring collective political will and comprehensive strategies for reconstruction, addressing not only material aspects but also social and psychological levels.
The international system is witnessing radical transitions that necessitate a reevaluation of the concepts of security and stability. His Excellency mentioned that conflicts have become protracted, overlapping phenomena creating interconnected crises globally, each crisis feeding into another, from Ukraine to Gaza, and involving multiple regional crises.
The State of Qatar remains committed to dialogue as a fundamental means of resolving conflicts and building peace. Through Qatar's experiences in mediation and conflict resolution, it has been recognized that building true peace requires engaging all influential parties, respecting societal specificities, acknowledging historical grievances, and addressing them with justice and reconciliation, His Excellency stated.
The Global Security Forum is an annual international event that has successfully attracted a broad network of key international officials and experts, including ministers, heads of security agencies, experts, academics, and journalists. Thousands of interested parties attend to discuss significant security challenges facing the international community and to develop effective solutions.
