The session was moderated by HE WEF President Børge Brende. According to Qatar News Agency, during the session, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the past year witnessed positive developments in the region, including the formation of a new government in Lebanon, a new president in Syria, and the de-escalation of the war in Gaza. However, he emphasized that these developments do not mean stability in the region, expressing his concern about the tension and escalation on several fronts. His Excellency stated that the time has come for the region to consider restructuring its security by building trust among nations, ensuring that no party poses a threat to another, and addressing the root causes of insecuri ty. His Excellency also called for a wise approach to navigating volatile global circumstances, enabling nations to become stronger and more resilient in managing their conflicts, noting that the past few years, particularly this year, have witnessed rapid developments, reinforcing the perception that the global system requires reforms that have been neglected for decades. HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the completion of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza does not signify its conclusion, pointing out that many tasks remain to be completed and commended the pivotal role played by the joint mediation of the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America in reaching this agreement, which represents a significant achievement.
