Qatar Actively Engages in Arab Justice Ministers Meeting in Cairo.

Cairo: The State of Qatar participated in the 40th session of the Council of Arab Justice Ministers, held Thursday at the headquarters of the Arab League's General Secretariat in Cairo. HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali bin Issa Al Hassan Al Mohannadi led Qatar's delegation at the meeting. According to Qatar News Agency, the council's current session focused on a variety of Arab agreements and legislations intended to enhance legal and judicial cooperation among Arab nations. Key topics included strengthening Arab and international collaboration in combating terrorism, as outlined in the Arab Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism, as well as mechanisms for its implementation. The discussions also covered the Arab Convention on Combating Money-Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism, and the Arab Convention on Combating Information Technology Offences. The ministers reviewed several draft guiding laws and agreements designed to address regional challenge s. These drafts included the Arab guiding law to prevent hate speech, the Arab guiding law to protect and assist displaced persons in Arab countries, the Arab agreement on the status of refugees in Arab countries, the unified Arab model law on narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, and the Arab guiding law to protect children from recruitment in armed conflicts. Additionally, the meeting addressed various items related to enhancing joint Arab action. This included boosting cooperation between the secretariats of the Arab Councils of Justice and Interior Ministers, forming the members of the Council's Executive Office, and discussing relevant organizational procedures.
