Doha: HE Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri emphasized the significance of Qatar National Day as a moment to reflect on the country's rich history and to renew commitment to its development goals. He highlighted the role of wise leadership in ensuring that Qatar remains a leader across various sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Minister stated that Qatar continues to make significant strides toward achieving its goals as outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy. This year's National Day slogan, inspired by the words of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, emphasizes the crucial role of Qatari youth in sustaining the nation's progress and building upon the legacy of their forefathers.

The Minister highlighted the importance of youth in national development, noting their responsibility to innovate and drive the nation toward excellence. He mentioned that the Ministry of Labor has focused on developing national capabilities through vocational training and qualification programs, empowering Qatari talent to compete effectively in the labor market.

He pointed out that the private sector plays a vital role in achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly in diversifying the economy and boosting its contribution to the GDP. The Ministry has successfully employed approximately 7,800 Qatari citizens and children of Qatari women since 2021, through direct partnerships with private sector institutions.

The Qatar Award for Localisation in the Private Sector was mentioned as a positive incentive to encourage private sector institutions to attract and retain national talent. The Minister underscored the Workforce Planning Committee's role in coordinating between government entities and the private sector to enhance national workforce planning.

He stressed the need to align education system outputs with labor market needs and to propose suitable employment ratios for national talent. The Minister also spoke about the Ministry's efforts to enhance the labor sector's digital infrastructure to improve efficiency and facilitate processes.

Lastly, he emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in enhancing labor sector performance and achieving development objectives, noting that the Ministry has engaged in consultative meetings with private sector representatives to improve the work environment for all stakeholders.
