Doha:Qatar Airways has inaugurated its new twice-weekly service connecting Doha with Caracas, Venezuela, and Bogotá, Colombia. This development marks a significant milestone for the airline as it becomes the first Gulf carrier to serve Venezuela and the first to operate nonstop services from the Middle East to both Bogotá and Caracas.
According to Qatar News Agency, the new route highlights Qatar Airways’ commitment to enhancing global connectivity in the region and utilizes Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. This addition marks Caracas and Bogotá as the 16th and 17th destinations in the Americas served by the airline.
Qatar Airways initially entered the South American market in 2010 with its inaugural flight to São Paulo, Brazil. The airline has also recently expanded its partnership with LATAM to include LATAM Airlines Colombia. This collaboration allows Qatar Airways to place its code on LATAM-operated flights between Bogotá and several key domestic destinations, thereby offering travelers increased access to the region.
The airline continues to expand its global reach, serving more than 170 destinations during this winter season.
