Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Sugiono, have formalized the initiation of a Qatar-Indonesia Strategic Dialogue by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on April 13, 2025, in Doha. This event marks a significant development in the ongoing bilateral relationship between the two nations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the signing of the MoU occurred during the official visit of HE President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, to the State of Qatar. The Strategic Dialogue is set to reinforce the robust bilateral partnership and opens up avenues for further cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The newly established dialogue aims to enhance collaboration across various sectors such as political cooperation on international and regional concerns, security, defense, and counter-terrorism efforts. Economic cooperation will also be a focal point, with an emphasis on trade and investment. Additionally, cultural exchanges will be promoted to strengthen people-to-people connections and build cultural bridges.
Both Qatar and Indonesia are optimistic that their strong historical partnership will serve the interests of both nations, taking their bilateral relationship to a higher level of cooperation.
