Qatar and UAE Leaders Discuss Regional Stability Amid Rising Tensions

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan convened at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations and strategies to bolster peace and stability in the region. The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration between Qatar and the UAE in addressing regional and international issues that affect the Middle East.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions between the Qatari and UAE leaders also addressed the pressing concern of Israeli violations in the region. The State of Qatar condemned recent attacks on residential buildings in Doha, which housed members of Hamas's political bureau, labeling these actions as a violation of international laws and a threat to Qatar's security.

In a related development, Qatar expressed deep concern over the deteriorating human rights situation in Sudan, urging for accountability for the crimes committed during the ongoing war. The Qatari leadership called for an end to the violence and a focus on humanitarian relief efforts.

Further diplomatic engagements were reported as HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received calls from several foreign counterparts, including officials from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and France. These discussions primarily focused on regional security and bilateral cooperation.

On the economic front, the Qatar Chamber hosted a meeting with a delegation from Oman to explore avenues for deeper economic collaboration. This aligns with Qatar's broader strategy to strengthen economic ties with neighboring nations.

The international community, including China and Egypt, has shown solidarity with Qatar in light of Israeli aggression. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and HH Amir of Kuwait expressed support for Qatar's mediation efforts in Gaza. Meanwhile, China condemned the attack, emphasizing its opposition to any actions compromising Qatar's sovereignty.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino also expressed support for Qatar following the Israeli attack, highlighting the global concern over the incident.

In technology advancements, the Qatar Investment Authority announced its investment in PsiQuantum, which aims to develop the world's first commercially viable quantum computers, signifying Qatar's commitment to innovation and technological progress.
