Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan with several key developments highlighted.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet began by praising the outcomes of the recent talks between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Friedrich Merz. These discussions, which took place during the Chancellor's visit to Qatar on February 5, focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and addressing prominent regional and international issues. The strategic relations between Qatar and Germany, along with their evolving investment partnership, were noted as having entered a promising new phase.
The Cabinet also welcomed the results of the seventh session of the Joint Higher Committee for Cooperation between Qatar and Kuwait. The session, held in Kuwait, was seen as a significant step towards enhancing cooperation and integration between the two nations. The session was led by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs for Qatar and HE Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah for Kuwait.
Additionally, the Cabinet highlighted the launch of the Cabinet General Secretariat 2026-2030 Strategy, which aims to translate national priorities into effective practices. The strategy focuses on improving government decision-making, enhancing regulatory environments, and integrating sustainability considerations to achieve sustainable development and the goals of the National Development Strategy.
The Cabinet also approved a proposal to transfer the Real Estate Brokerage Department from the Ministry of Justice to the Public Authority for Regulating Real Estate. This move is intended to unify and regulate real estate brokerage activities, enhance governance, and support the real estate market in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Furthermore, the Cabinet approved a draft memorandum of understanding for political consultations between Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ireland's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. An air services agreement draft between Qatar and the United Kingdom was also approved.
The meeting concluded with the review of four reports, including those on fuel station monitoring, the achievements of the Qatar General Organization for Standards and Metrology, and the participation of Qatari delegations in international forums such as the Web Summit in Lisbon and the World Economic Forum in Davos. Appropriate decisions were made on these reports to support ongoing initiatives and international engagements.
