Qatar Chamber and QDB Collaborate to Tackle Challenges for Exporting Manufacturers

Doha: Qatar Chamber (QC) recently hosted a collaborative meeting with Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and industrial exporters to discuss the challenges faced by exporting manufacturers. The attendees were informed about the key products and services provided by QDB, and the session focused on finding solutions, enhancing cooperation, and supporting exporting industrialists.

According to Qatar News Agency, QC First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari emphasized the significance of cooperation between QC and QDB to promote industrial and economic development. He highlighted the importance of addressing challenges faced by industrial investors to help them grow their businesses and venture into foreign markets. Al Kuwari also noted the rapid developments within the industrial sector and its crucial role in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030, especially regarding economic diversification, local production reliance, and increasing industry contributions to the GDP.

QDB CEO Abdulrahman Hashem Al Suwaidi outlined the Bank's role as a key partner for manufacturers and exporters, providing comprehensive advisory and financing services to enable the private sector's role in economic development. He stressed the importance of raising awareness about QDB's services, such as export insurance policies, raw material financing, global business expansion financing, and buyer credit products, to facilitate Qatari exports' access to global markets.

Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al Ansari, QC Board Member and Chairman of the QC's Industry Committee, emphasized the export guarantee services offered by QDB, which benefit Qatari manufacturers. He called for increased private sector involvement in selecting target countries and markets for promotion, leveraging the private sector's expertise in this area.

Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli, QC Board Member, noted the private sector's and Qatari manufacturers' interest in entering new markets and enhancing Qatari products' competitiveness. He stressed the importance of supporting and protecting Qatari factories from potential challenges in these markets, highlighting the significance of both financing and non-financing services provided by QDB.

HE Eng. Ali bin Abdul Latif Al Misnad, QC Board Member, underscored the need for regular joint meetings between QDB and Qatari manufacturers to exchange ideas and visions for implementing a national strategy for Qatari industry. The meeting also included discussions by industrial exporters, addressing various challenges in Qatari industry and industrial exports, with an agreement to further study and discuss these challenges and visions.
