Doha: HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber (QC) Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani emphasized that the state's commemoration of Qatar National Day serves as a significant milestone to renew pride and belonging, as well as an opportunity to consolidate awareness of Qatar's history and its journey toward progress and stability.
According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency noted that the National Day provides a platform to promote Qatar's future vision of building a knowledge economy and supporting human development. It also enhances cohesion among the diverse components of Qatari society, reflecting a unique model of coexistence and unity of purpose.
Sheikh Khalifa extended his congratulations to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani on this occasion. He highlighted that the annual celebration, observed by Qatar's leadership, citizens, and residents, commemorates the values instilled by the founder, the late Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, including unity, truthfulness, justice, and courage.
His Excellency emphasized the special dimension of the December 18th celebration under the leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. The manifestations of celebration signify unity and rallying around the leadership, reaffirming Qatar's strength, which stems from the cohesion of its people and confidence in its development approach.
He added that celebrating National Day reinforces the values of loyalty and love for the homeland, making them an integral part of the conscience and behavior of Qatari citizens. It enhances their sense of security and pride, while also serving as a reminder of their responsibility to contribute to the nation's progress and prosperity.
Sheikh Khalifa described the National Day as both an official and emotional referendum, where feelings of loyalty are renewed, reflecting the convergence of popular will with the leadership's vision. It is a moment where the Qatari people express their deep conviction in the nation's journey and their connection to its values.
His Excellency also noted the remarkable activity witnessed by the Qatar Chamber during 2025, highlighting its role in supporting the Qatari private sector and enhancing its contribution to economic development. The chamber's achievements included a variety of initiatives, events, and agreements that have promoted the Qatari economy and expanded trade and investment cooperation globally.
The chamber intensified its participation in local and international economic conferences and forums, hosted trade delegations, and organized numerous events aimed at supporting entrepreneurship and empowering the private sector. Additionally, the chamber played a significant role in commercial arbitration through the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA).
HE QC Chairman highlighted the chamber's efforts in supporting Qatari entrepreneurs and businesswomen, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and innovation in collaboration with various entities. The chamber's sectoral committees continued to engage with company representatives to address challenges and find solutions in coordination with relevant authorities.
QC organized around 190 events by the end of October 2025, participated in international events, and signed cooperation agreements with counterpart chambers. The chamber also achieved a legislative milestone by completing the first draft Qatari law compatible with the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records, advancing Qatar's position in digital trade development.
Sheikh Khalifa concluded by highlighting QC's commitment to leveraging modern technologies to enhance its services for members, contributing to the competitiveness of the business sector in Qatar. The chamber aims to further digitize its services, facilitating access for its members and the Qatari business community, as part of its strategy to enhance Qatar's position as a global business hub.
