Doha: Qatar Chamber hosted a trade delegation from the Republic of Tanzania, led by Afia Mwanahamisi Siggi, Director of Business Development at Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank, and Juma Ally Nzima, Senior Investment Officer at Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of commerce and investment, with particular emphasis on agriculture and food security. The delegation was welcomed by Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al Ansari and Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli, who are board members of the Chamber.
Abdulrahman Al Ansari highlighted that the Qatari market is open to Tanzanian products, particularly in the food sector, and emphasized the Chamber's commitment to fostering collaboration between the private sectors of both nations to boost trade. Mohammed Al Obaidli pointed out the significant investment opportunities in Africa, especially in Tanzania, and noted that the trade balance favors Tanzania, with Qatari imports from Tanzania in 2024 reaching QAR 126 million, predominantly in meat products, compared to Qatari exports of QAR 69 million.
Afia Mwanahamisi Siggi expressed that the Tanzanian delegation's visit aims to bolster trade relations, promote Tanzanian goods in Qatar, and encourage Qatari investors to explore potential opportunities in Tanzania.
