Doha: Qatar Charity (QC) signed an agreement with Turkiye's Presidency of Religious Affairs to establish an Islamic complex in the Kahramanmaras Province in southern Turkey. The signing ceremony was attended by President of Religious Affairs Dr. Ali Erbas and CEO's assistant for the Resources Development and Communication sector at Qatar Charity Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo, in addition to Secretary-General of the International Union for Muslim Scholars Dr. Ali Al Qaradaghi. This agreement comes within the framework of a series of reconstruction projects for earthquake-affected areas in southern Turkey, aimed at reducing the damages caused by the disaster and further strengthening the Qatari-Turkish bond. According to the agreement, the projects to be implemented within the framework of the complex will include a mosque, a Quran memorization center, a Quranic sciences center, residential units for staff, a youth center, a library, student housing, and a lecture hall. Marking the occasion, Dr. Ali Erbas said: "Tod ay, we are signing an agreement with Qatar Charity in Kahramanmaras to implement a large charitable project, that will include a mosque and a religious academy." He added that facilities will serve as a center for nurturing a generation of Imams and a source of knowledge. He hoped that construction would begin soon and benefit the Kahramanmara? city and the entire Turkiye. For his part, Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo expressed his pleasure in signing the agreement for the establishment of an Islamic complex in Kahramanmaras, aimed at compensating for the loss caused by the destruction of several religious facilities and mosques due to the earthquake. The reconstruction projects implemented or underway by Qatar Charity in the Turkish provinces affected by the earthquake include support for infrastructure in the education, health, industry, and shelter sectors, in accordance with several agreements signed previously.
