Qatar Climbs to 53rd Globally and 5th in Arab and Asian FIFA Rankings

Doha: The Qatari national football team has secured the 53rd position globally and ranks 5th among Arab and Asian teams, with 1459.85 points in the FIFA Men's World Ranking for July. This ranking period saw Argentina retain its top position.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari team, which has emerged victorious in the last two editions of the AFC Asian Cup, moved up two spots globally, following their win over Iran on June 5.

The global rankings saw little movement within the top 10, with the exception of Croatia, which climbed into 10th place, replacing Italy, now in 11th. Argentina continued to lead with 1885.36 points, followed by Spain at 1867.09 points, and France at 1862.03 points.

England maintained its position in fourth place with 1813.32 points, narrowly ahead of Brazil in fifth with 1777.69 points. The top ten were completed by Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Croatia.

In the Arab rankings, Morocco held the number one spot, ranking 12th globally with 1698.72 points, and also leading in Africa. Senegal followed as the second-best African team and 18th globally with 1635.1 points. Egypt was ranked 34th globally, second among Arab teams, and third in Africa, with Algeria in 36th, Tunisia in 49th, Qatar in 53rd, and Saudi Arabia in 59th.

On the Asian front, Japan continued to be the top-ranked team with 1641.23 points, despite dropping to 17th globally. Iran followed in 20th place, South Korea in 23rd, Australia in 24th, and Qatar in 53rd.
