- Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation held Thursday several sports activities, in celebration of the International Day of University Sport (IDUS). Running through Sep. 23, the individual and team sports activities brought together students from Qatar University, Qatar Foundation, University of Doha for Science and Technology and Community College. The Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation Board members were in attendance. In addition to spreading sports awareness among university students, the events explore talented athletes and enhance student leadership and mental development. An annual tradition on Sep. 20 since 2016, the IDUS is high on the agendas of the UNESCO and the Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire. It coincides with the academic year start in various countries worldwide. The event aims to develop relations between universities and their local communities by organizing activities that focus on sports, building a sustainable healthy life, and opening communication channels among stude nts around the world Source: Qatar News Agency
