Doha: The Cultural Attache of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom has organized a convocation ceremony for 150 students of both genders. The graduates included UK university alumni who had received scholarships from Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) and other sponsoring bodies, as well as self-funded students. Among them were 30 graduates who earned distinction across various academic disciplines.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani, Qatar’s Cultural Attache to the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland Fahad bin Mohammed Al Kuwari, and Acting Director of the Scholarships Department at MOEHE Noura Al Ansari attended the ceremony. The alumni were recognized for their academic distinction and scientific achievements, aimed at strengthening the supply of well-qualified national talents to the Qatari labor market.
Addressing the gathering, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani emphasized that graduation marks the beginning of a new era that demands further responsibility and contribution. He encouraged the alumni to leverage their acquired knowledge and expertise for the benefit of their homeland and to maintain the relationships they have built throughout their study years to aid the country’s development journey.
Al Kuwari highlighted that Qatari students are enrolled in some of the UK’s leading universities. He noted that this year’s graduates are spread across almost 40 universities, focusing on specialized disciplines aligned with labor market needs and national development priorities. He assured that the cultural attach© office remains dedicated to monitoring students’ academic progress and offering training and professional development programs to enhance their readiness for the workforce.
Noura Al Ansari advised the graduates to complete their scholarship procedures before beginning their professional roles. She stressed the significance of continuing scientific excellence and making meaningful contributions to the national development pathway.
The event concluded with the honoring of top-performing students and the distribution of certificates to graduates, who expressed their commitment to applying their knowledge and expertise in serving the nation and advancing its key sectors, particularly in cybersecurity, engineering, energy, health, law, and scientific research.
