Qatar Drawn in Group A with Italy, South Africa, Bolivia for 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup

Doha: Qatar has been drawn into Group A alongside Italy, South Africa, and Bolivia for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup, according to the official tournament draw held Sunday in Doha. According to Qatar News Agency, the expanded tournament will take place in Doha from November 3 to 27, featuring 48 teams for the first time in the history of any FIFA World Cup event. This edition marks the first of five consecutive U-17 World Cups that Qatar will host through 2029, under FIFA's new expanded format. The draw was conducted with the help of former Qatar international Abdulaziz Al Sulaiti and German star Julian Draxler, currently playing for Al Ahli in the Qatari league. A total of 104 matches will be played over 25 days across eight venues at the Aspire Academy complex, with the final scheduled to be held at Khalifa International Stadium. The 48 teams were split into 12 groups of four, with the top two from each group and the eight best third-place teams advancing to the round of 32. Group B includes Japan, Moro cco, New Caledonia, and Portugal. Group C features Senegal, Croatia, Costa Rica, and the United Arab Emirates. Group D contains Argentina, Belgium, Tunisia, and Fiji. Group E sees England, Venezuela, Haiti, and Egypt face off, while Group F is made up of Mexico, South Korea, Ivory Coast, and Switzerland. Germany, Colombia, North Korea, and El Salvador headline Group G. Group H includes Brazil, Honduras, Indonesia, and Zambia. Group I includes the United States, Burkina Faso, Tajikistan, and the Czech Republic. Group J features Paraguay, Uzbekistan, Panama, and Ireland. Group K includes France, Chile, Canada, and Uganda, while Group L wraps up the draw with Mali, New Zealand, Austria, and Saudi Arabia.
