Qatar Education Excellence Award Marks 20 Years of Celebrating Academic Achievements

Doha: The State of Qatar firmly upholds the belief that investing in education is the most sustainable form of investment for both present and future generations. This commitment to education is enshrined in the State's Permanent Constitution, aligning with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 to nurture educated individuals capable of academic excellence and contributing to national development.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatar Education Excellence Award was introduced in 2006 to recognize and honor academically outstanding Qatari students. The award aims to foster a culture of excellence and innovation within society and education, motivating high achievement and aligning educational outcomes with international standards. It stands as the highest academic recognition in the country, striving to build a knowledge-based human capital ready to face future challenges.

This year, the State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, will celebrate the award's twentieth anniversary, recognizing 108 winners across nine categories, including primary, intermediate, and secondary school students, outstanding teachers, and distinguished researchers. The award also acknowledges excellence at the university level, including master's and doctorate degree holders.

The Executive Committee of the Qatar Education Excellence Award announced the results of its nineteenth edition on January 6, following approval by the Award's Board of Trustees, chaired by HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater. From a total of 371 applicants, 108 candidates were selected, showcasing the rising competitiveness and quality of submissions.

The diversity of educational institutions represented among the winners underscores the widespread culture of achievement and excellence across Qatar's educational landscape. This cycle introduces new medals for the doctoral and master's categories, enhancing the award's value and prestige.

Significant changes accompany the nineteenth edition, including a new title, visual identity, and increased financial rewards. The award is expanding its scope to include new categories, such as Educational Leader and Diploma Holders, starting in 2028, recognizing educational leadership and research contributions.

The Qatar Education Excellence Award has become a national platform promoting quality and innovation, preparing distinguished role models for the country's development.
