Qatar Emphasizes Commitment to Strengthening International Solidarity

Geneva: The State of Qatar reaffirmed its commitment to a foreign policy centered on enhancing international solidarity with countries and organizations globally. Over the past four decades, Qatar has focused on numerous educational and development initiatives worldwide, aiming to foster global peace and support diverse development efforts.

According to Qatar News Agency, the declaration was made by Mohammed Ali Al Baker, Third Secretary in the Legal Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during an interactive dialogue at the 59th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva. Al Baker highlighted the significance of international solidarity in promoting and safeguarding the rights of individuals and communities. He emphasized that while governments primarily hold the responsibility for upholding human rights at the national level, international solidarity plays an essential role in bolstering national efforts and aiding governments in fulfilling their human rights obligations.

Al Baker pointed out the increasing challenges faced by countries and societies, stressing the need for heightened attention to international solidarity. He advocated for international and regional partnerships and cooperation, which facilitate the sharing of expertise and practices, reduce inequalities, and uphold the rights of peoples. Such collaboration ensures that communities can address their challenges, meet their needs, and preserve their cultural identities for future generations, ensuring inclusive development processes.
