Riyadh: The State of Qatar took part in the 16th meeting of the Customs Union Authority of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in Riyadh, KSA. Representing Qatar was a delegation led by Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal, Chairman of the General Authority of Customs and President of the Executive Council of the Customs Union Authority.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on the development of joint Gulf customs initiatives. Key discussions included projects concerning the completion of requirements for establishing the Customs Union Authority, updates on the unified customs law for GCC countries, and reviews of reports and minutes from specialized committees and technical teams.
The meeting also covered the progress of implementing the Executive Council's decisions and examined several technical agenda items aimed at strengthening coordination and unifying customs procedures across GCC countries. These discussions are indicative of the Customs Union Authority's role in supporting Gulf integration, enhancing cooperation between customs administrations of GCC countries, and developing joint work mechanisms to facilitate intra-regional trade and improve unified customs performance.
