Asir: The State of Qatar actively participated in the second Asir Investment Forum, hosted in the Asir region of Saudi Arabia on May 26 and 27. The event, themed 'Asir Flourishes', attracted numerous high-ranking officials, decision-makers, and investors from both within the Kingdom and internationally.
According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar's delegation was led by HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, along with representatives from the Ministry of Municipality, Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, and Barwa Real Estate Group. This involvement underscores Qatar's commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation with Saudi Arabia and sharing knowledge in urban planning, sustainable development, and investment attraction.
The forum is recognized as a leading development and tourism platform in Saudi Arabia, focusing on the economic, cultural, and tourism potential of Asir. It aligns with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals, which aim to attract 10 million visitors to the region annually by highlighting its 4,000 heritage villages.
On the sidelines of the forum, HE Al Attiyah engaged in discussions with HRH Governor of Asir Region Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, HE the Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al Khateeb, and HE the Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al Swaha. These discussions explored ways to enhance cooperation between Qatar and Saudi Arabia in urban development and investment.
HE Al Attiyah also participated in the forum's opening ministerial session, focusing on the significance of urban planning and the integration of municipal entities. He shared insights from Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as a model of sustainable urban planning and integrated infrastructure.
