Qatar Engages in Crucial Workshop on Agricultural Water Use in OIC Countries

Rabat: Represented by the Ministry of Municipality, the State of Qatar participated in the international workshop on water use in agriculture in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, held at the headquarters of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Rabat, Morocco, in collaboration with the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS).

According to Qatar News Agency, the workshop convened experts and representatives from various member states to address the pressing issue of water scarcity in OIC countries. Discussions focused on methods to recycle and desalinate water for its effective application in agriculture.

Participants examined the key challenges confronting water and food security, putting forward innovative scientific solutions. These included the implementation of smart irrigation techniques, the cultivation of drought-resistant crops, and the development of policies and strategic partnerships aimed at achieving integrated and effective water resource management in the agricultural sector.

Qatar's Ministry of Municipality's involvement in this workshop reflects its commitment to fostering international cooperation and exchanging expertise in agriculture and water resource management. This initiative aligns with Qatar's objectives of bolstering food security and promoting sustainable development.
