Kuwait city: The State of Qatar participated in the fifth consultative meeting of Their Excellencies the GCC Ministers of Trade and Industry, held in the State of Kuwait. HE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed headed the Qatari delegation to the meeting.
According to Qatar News Agency, the agenda focused on exchanging experiences and discussing the challenges facing entrepreneurship in the GCC countries. The meeting also reviewed initiatives supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and explored ways to enhance innovation and entrepreneurship in the Gulf.
On the sidelines of the ministerial committee meetings of the Trade and Industry Cooperation Committees, HE Al Sayed met with HE Chris Bryant, Minister of State at the Department for Business and Trade of the United Kingdom. During this meeting, topics of mutual interest were reviewed, aiming to strengthen cooperation between Qatar and the UK in the commercial, investment, and industrial sectors. The discussions also included the finalization of the free trade agreement with the United Kingdom.
Furthermore, the meeting addressed the successful economic policies adopted by the State of Qatar to support the private sector. It also highlighted the incentives, legislation, and promising investment opportunities available in Qatar.
