Qatar Engages in Global Women’s Empowerment Dialogue at UN Session

New York: The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Social Development and Family, participated in the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. HE Minister of Social Development and Family, Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, led Qatar's delegation, delivering a statement that highlighted the significant contributions of Qatari women across various sectors and the state's ongoing efforts to support their empowerment through effective policies aimed at sustainable development.

According to Qatar News Agency, Her Excellency engaged in a side event titled "Women and Technology: Inspiring Stories in the GCC Countries," where she presented successful initiatives empowering women in the technology sector within the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. She emphasized the importance of technology and innovation for Qatari women and outlined the state's initiatives to bolster this critical sector.

On the sidelines of the session, HE the Minister conducted a series of bilateral meetings with senior officials, including HE First Lady of Lebanon, Nemat Aoun, to discuss enhancing Arab cooperation in women's empowerment. Additional discussions were held with HE Minister of Family and Social Services of Turkiye, Mahinur Goktas, and other key figures from Kuwait, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Singapore, Bahrain, Oman, Armenia, Liberia, and Saint Kitts and Nevis. The meetings focused on strengthening cooperation in social development, legislative frameworks, and knowledge exchange.
