Manila: Qatar participated on Monday in the Asian Volleyball Confederation's (AVC) Board of Administration Meeting held in Manila. Qatar was represented at the meeting by President of the Qatar and West Asian Volleyball Federations Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting was chaired by AVC's President Ramon Suzara and attended by several members of the Federation's Board of Directors, heads of national federations, and representatives of relevant committees. The gathering focused on strategies to enhance the game at the continental level, examining key challenges and exploring opportunities for advancement. Discussions also included joint cooperation programs between national federations and the agenda for forthcoming tournaments.
A significant highlight of the meeting was the draw for several upcoming Asian tournaments. Among them was the Men's Asian Cup, scheduled to take place in Bahrain from June 17-24, 2025, featuring 12 teams. The draw placed defending champions Qatar in Group B, alongside Australia and Kazakhstan, marking it as one of the tournament's most competitive groups. Additionally, the meeting included the draw for the AVC Women U16 Championship, set to be held in Jordan from July 20-27, with participation from elite Asian teams.
