Qatar Engages in Specialized Training on Nature-Based Solutions at Arab League HQ

Cairo: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC), represented by the Wildlife Development Department, has participated in a specialized training course on nature-based solutions at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.

According to Qatar News Agency, the course was conducted in cooperation and coordination with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and included the participation of a number of experts and specialists. The Ministry was represented at the course by Director of the Wildlife Development Department Khalid Juma Al Muhannadi.

The course's primary focus was on strengthening institutional capacities and developing scientific and applied knowledge related to nature-based solutions. It delved into ways to utilize these solutions in biodiversity conservation, adapting to the effects of climate change, and the sustainable management of natural resources, thereby supporting environmental policies and achieving sustainability goals.

This participation is part of the Ministry's broader efforts to align with international best practices. It aims to develop the competencies of its national staff and enhance initiatives related to wildlife protection and ecosystem preservation, consistent with the State's vision for sustainable environmental development.
