Qatar Engages in Sustainable Development Dialogue at Cairo Conference

Cairo: The State of Qatar marked its presence at the 15th International Conference on Sustainable Development, organized by the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and Environment, which commenced on Monday at the Arab League headquarters. The conference is themed "Sustainable Development and the Future of Generations."

According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Sharifa Al Emadi, Executive Director of the Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), represented Qatar at the five-day event. The conference gathers experts and officials from various Arab institutions focused on environmental and developmental issues. Its objectives include promoting Arab and Arab-international cooperation on sustainable development, enhancing environmental awareness, and understanding the role of family media in fostering a sustainable societal outlook. Additionally, the conference supports innovation and environmentally friendly entrepreneurship, examines digital risks, and explores protective measures for families. It also emphasizes the role of technology in crafting a sustainable future, establishing strategic partnerships that bolster development and environmental goals, and aiding innovators and entrepreneurs in transforming ideas into viable projects.

The conference will address several pertinent topics such as sustainable cities and urban transformation, the interplay between family media and digital transformation towards sustainable awareness and security, and the role of entrepreneurship and innovation in advancing sustainable development. It will also highlight the importance of connecting the needs of current generations with the rights of future generations, considering the global expansion of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030. The sessions will underscore the need to support innovation, utilize safe and sustainable technology, and empower family and child welfare, along with fostering the capabilities of Arab creators and innovators.
