Qatar Equestrian Tour Kicks Off 9th Season Tomorrow

Doha: Qatar will host Thursday the ninth season of the Qatar Equestrian Tour - Longines Hathab for 2025-2026. The competitions will be held across 14 rounds at the Qatar Equestrian Federation arena and the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab, a member of Qatar Foundation.

According to Qatar News Agency, the event is co-organized by the Qatar Equestrian and Modern Pentathlon Federation and Al Shaqab. The new season introduces refreshed classifications for the tour rounds, now labeled as Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Bronze rounds. Both individual and team competitions will be held in the Gold and Bronze categories.

The opening round will take place over three days at the indoor arena of the Qatar Equestrian Federation, attracting top riders from across the country competing in various categories. Action begins Thursday at 5:00 PM with the Amateur (Aspiring Riders) competition at a height of 100 cm, followed by the Bronze individual and team events at 7:30 PM over fences set at 120 cm.

The second day of the tour continues with the Future Riders competition for ages 6-12 (70 cm), the Open class (110 cm), and the Gold individual and team round (140 cm). Saturday's final day will feature dressage events for amateurs, as well as preliminary and elementary-level dressage tests. This will be followed by the Future Riders competition for the 12-16 age group (90 cm), then the Silver round (130 cm), and concluding with the prestigious Diamond round at a height of 150 cm.

The Longines Hathab series, now in its ninth year, continues to serve as a platform for developing Qatar's equestrian talent and enhancing the competitive landscape of show jumping and dressage in the country.
