Doha: Al-Watan newspaper highlighted HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani laying the foundation stone for the blue ammonia plant project in Mesaieed Industrial City, marking a significant step in Qatar's commitment to renewable energy and carbon capture. This initiative aims to supply the global market with low-carbon fuel products, reinforcing Qatar's leadership in sustainable energy development. According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Watan emphasized that the investment in both blue ammonia production and expanded carbon capture facilities underlines QatarEnergy's dedication to its sustainability strategy. This strategy includes ambitious projects intended to enhance carbon capture and storage capabilities, with a goal of capturing more than 11 million tons of CO2 annually by 2035. Meanwhile, Al-Sharq newspaper addressed recent developments in Arab affairs, noting an announced ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon following an escalation of aggression on Lebanese soil. This agreement seeks to halt the prolonged conflict, although Al-Sharq highlighted the ongoing plight of Palestinians facing severe humanitarian crises in Gaza, exacerbated by the international community's failure to provide aid. Al-Sharq further cautioned that without earnest efforts toward a comprehensive and just peace agreement, any temporary solutions or political maneuvers would likely be ineffective in resolving the broader issues at hand.
