Doha: The State of Qatar has welcomed the ceasefire agreement in the Republic of Lebanon, expressing hope that it will lead to a similar accord to end the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli attacks on the occupied West Bank. According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar's anticipation that all parties will adhere to the agreement, cease military operations immediately, fully implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and pave the way for a more comprehensive agreement that achieves lasting peace and complete stability in the region. The ministry reaffirmed the State of Qatar's steadfast position towards the Republic of Lebanon, its unity, and territorial integrity, and its continuous support for its brotherly people. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed the State of Qatar's appreciation for the efforts of the United States of America and the French Republic in reaching this agreement.
