Qatar ExxonMobil Open Praised for Organization and Fan Appeal, Says Official

Doha: A senior official has praised the ongoing Qatar ExxonMobil Open for its high-quality organizational and sporting standards. Khalid Al Khelaifi, board member of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation and director of national teams, said the improvements at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex and the strong fan turnout reflected the tournament's growing stature on the global tennis calendar.

According to Qatar News Agency, speaking to the press on Wednesday, he highlighted the professional management, high-quality matches, and participation of top-ranked international players as factors that make the event "exciting from the early rounds to the finals." Al Khelaifi also noted upgrades to the venue's facilities, services for players, media, and spectators, adding that guests had praised the experience, positioning Doha as a model for hosting major sporting events.

Matches scheduled after Iftar during Ramadan have created a "special atmosphere" and attracted large crowds, he said, with tickets for the semi-finals and finals selling out, underscoring the tournament's popularity and competitive level. "The Qatar Open has become an annual highlight," Al Khelaifi said. "Our aim is to maintain Doha as a key stop on the global tennis circuit and deliver a world-class sporting event that reflects Qatar's organizational capabilities.
