Doha: Qatar's men's national basketball team finished second at the Gulf 3x3 Basketball Championship after losing to Bahrain 20-16 in the final match on Saturday in Muscat. Qatar had reached the final by defeating Oman 'B' 16-12 in its opening group-stage match, then beating Bahrain 17-13 to top Group B with a perfect record. In the semifinals, Qatar overcame Saudi Arabia 20-16.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari squad featured Ahmed Saeed Mohammed, Dejan Janic, Meho Haracic, and Nedim Muslic. In the women's competition, Qatar placed fourth after losing to Kuwait 11-7 in the third-place playoff. Earlier, Qatar had fallen to Saudi Arabia 19-13 in the semifinals. Saudi Arabia went on to claim the women's title with a 20-17 win over Bahrain in the final.
