Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education Partners with American University of Beirut for Educational Initiatives

Doha: Qatar Foundation's Pre-University Education (PUE) and the American University of Beirut (AUB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacities of teachers and educational leaders, enhancing professional learning systems, and fostering innovation in education from early childhood through secondary school.

According to Qatar News Agency, the MoU establishes a framework for cooperation in designing and implementing professional development programs, diploma programs, professional accreditation pathways, joint research activities, and other educational initiatives tailored for teaching and administrative staff, in alignment with international standards and national education priorities.

Under the memorandum, areas of collaboration include the joint development and delivery of diploma programs and professional certification tracks, the organization of conferences, workshops, and seminars on priority educational topics, cooperation on research projects related to innovative pedagogical practices and policy development, and the creation of expanded training and practical learning opportunities within the Pre-University Education ecosystem.

During the signing ceremony, President of Pre-University Education at Qatar Foundation, Abeer Al Khalifa noted that the agreement marks a significant advancement reflecting a shared, long-standing vision that meaningful progress in education begins with strong institutional partnerships across the Arab world-partnerships that strengthen the abilities of both students and educators, respond to global shifts, and enhance the quality of educational outcomes.

She added that collaboration between Qatar Foundation and the American University of Beirut has long represented an established tradition, emphasizing that the agreement now provides a concrete mechanism for deepening and expanding this historic relationship. Al Khalifa expressed confidence that the partnership will yield clear and mutually beneficial results, opening new avenues for knowledge exchange and community support through exemplary educational initiatives grounded in best practices and rigorous standards.

For his part, President of the American University of Beirut, Dr. Fadlo Khuri affirmed that the university's partnership with Qatar reflects a mutual belief that every child in the Arab world is entitled to a high-quality education, and that cooperation between leading institutions serves as a pathway to meaningful progress and renewal in the region. Similarly, Dean of Academic Affairs at AUB, Dr. Zahir Dawy stated that both Qatar Foundation and the American University of Beirut are joined by a shared mission to build a brighter future for the Arab world through education and to empower talented, creative young people who remain strongly connected to their communities.
