Qatar Honors Global Anti-Corruption Champions in Doha

Doha: In a significant event underscoring Qatar's dedication to transparency and integrity, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani honored the winners of the International Anti-Corruption Excellence (ACE) Award in Doha.

According to Qatar News Agency, this prestigious award ceremony is not just a celebration of individual achievements but a global reaffirmation of the shared responsibility to combat corruption.

The Al-Arab newspaper highlighted that this award, initiated under the patronage of HH the Amir, is a pioneering global initiative. Over the years, it has honored numerous pioneers across continents, fostering a global culture that connects sustainable development with the rule of law and anti-corruption efforts. In its ninth edition, the award recognized nine winners from Africa, Latin America, Europe, and Asia, symbolizing the diverse global commitment to this cause.

Al-Sharq newspaper emphasized the importance that HH the Amir and Qatar place on combating corruption, viewing it as a significant challenge to global development and the economy. The award has been instrumental in launching national anti-corruption strategies, such as in Malaysia, and establishing specialized centers for combating corruption. The presence of Qatar's top leadership at the award ceremony underscores the nation's commitment to international anti-corruption efforts.

Meanwhile, the Peninsula newspaper reported on Qatar's initiatives to promote sustainability. The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), in collaboration with the Qatar General Organization for Standards and Metrology (QGOSM), announced the implementation of the GCC technical regulation for water conservation devices. This initiative aims to promote sustainability and save natural resources for future generations.

Kahramaa has also made strides in enhancing Qatar's water security by increasing the capacity of the strategic water reserve and adopting technologies to detect water leakages, thereby reducing water losses. These efforts are part of Qatar's broader strategy to counter climate change and preserve environmental resources.
