Doha: Qatari newspapers addressed on Wednesday several prominent local and regional issues. At the forefront of this was the launch of the 2026 Qatar Nationalisation Award for the Private Sector by the Ministry of Labour, under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani. The award reflects the State commitment to developing an attractive and sustainable work environment that encourages Qatari youth to innovate, take initiative, and contribute to national economic growth.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers unanimously described the award as a significant step toward reshaping the relationship between citizens and the labor market, embodying Qatar's vision of transforming job localization into a national project supported by genuine incentives and competitive mechanisms within the private sector.
The editorials also addressed Qatar condemnation, alongside seven Arab and Islamic countries, of Israel's decision to classify lands in the occupied West Bank as so-called "state property", and to approve large-scale procedures for land registration and settlement for the first time since 1967. The move was described as a dangerous escalation that violates international laws and regulations.
Al-Raya newspaper said that the Ministry of Labour launched the 2026 Qatar Nationalisation Award for the Private Sector. The newspaper said that the award sends a clear message that human capital is the future. This initiative, thus, contributes to creating a more attractive work environment for national talent that encourages companies to invest in training, development, youth, and women empowerment, promoting a culture of excellence and positive competition in the labor market and within the private sector.
