Qatar Launches AI Week 2024 and Hosts International Travel Exhibition.

Doha: In a strategic move to bolster its position as a leader in technology and tourism, Qatar has launched AI Week 2024 at the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), while also preparing to host the Qatar International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (QTM 2024) at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre. According to Qatar News Agency, these initiatives are part of Qatar's broader efforts to achieve the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence into daily life and solidify the country's reputation as a tourism and cultural hub. Qatar has been at the forefront of technological advancement, as highlighted by Al-Raya newspaper, which emphasized the country's commitment to fostering a robust technology ecosystem. The AI Week 2024 celebrates the 15th anniversary of QSTP and features a diverse program including expert lectures, panel discussions, and live demonstrations. This event underscores Qatar's dedication to using artificial intelligence as a catal yst for economic growth and global competitiveness. Meanwhile, The Peninsula newspaper underscored the significance of the tourism sector in Qatar's economic diversification strategy. The upcoming QTM 2024 exhibition aims to enhance Qatar's status as a premier travel destination, aligning with the nation's Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030. The exhibition will explore key topics influencing the future of tourism and travel, supporting sustainable economic growth. Qatar's efforts in tourism are already yielding results, with visitor numbers reaching four million by the end of October, marking a 26 percent increase compared to the previous year. Qatar Airways, the national carrier, has been instrumental in this growth, connecting Doha to over 177 destinations worldwide, thereby reinforcing Qatar's global connectivity and appeal.
