Doha: Deposit rates at opening as issued on Tuesday by Qatar National Bank (QNB) have been released, detailing the interest rates for various durations across multiple currencies. These rates indicate how interest will be accrued on deposits made in currencies such as USD, JPY, CHF, and GBP, as well as QAR, SAR, AED, and BHD.
According to Qatar News Agency, the deposit rates for USD start at 4.08824% for a 1-month term and gradually decrease to 3.58183% for a 12-month term. The JPY rates range from 0.40000% for 1-month and 2-month deposits to a slightly higher 0.78000% for a 12-month deposit. CHF deposit rates open at -0.18000% for 1 month and increase to 0.01000% for a 12-month term, while GBP rates begin at 3.96000% for a 1-month deposit and peak at 4.10000% for 6 months before tapering to 4.07000% for 12 months.
In the local and regional currencies, QAR deposits offer a consistent rate of 4.60000% for 1-month and 2-month terms, decreasing to 4.05000% for a 12-month period. SAR deposits are set at 5.00000% for 1-month, 3-month, and 6-month terms, slightly adjusting to 4.95000% for a year-long deposit. AED deposit rates start at 2.05000% for a 1-month term, rising to 3.15000% for a 12-month deposit. BHD deposits maintain a rate of 4.75000% for terms up to 6 months, before dropping to 4.25000% for a 12-month period.
