Qatar Olympic Academy Wraps Up Successful ‘Sport Psychology’ Course

Doha: The Qatar Olympic Academy concluded its 'Sport Psychology' course on Thursday, which began last Sunday with the participation of over forty trainees from Qatar and abroad, representing various sports, technical, and administrative sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the course was delivered by Associate Professor at the College of Basic Education in Kuwait, Dr. Ahmad Al Qallaf, and covered several key topics aimed at enhancing athletic performance. These included athletes' psychological traits, mental skills, stress management, injury prevention, and the importance of holistic psychological preparation. The course also addressed confidence building, body language, and mental readiness techniques.

Dr. Al Qallaf emphasized the importance of psychological training alongside physical and technical training, noting its vital role in achieving balanced and high-level performance. He also expressed appreciation for the participants' strong engagement.

For his part, Executive Director of the Academy, Khalil Al Jabir, stressed the significance of sport psychology as a foundational pillar in enhancing the performance of athletes and teams. He announced that similar courses would be included in the Academy's annual training plan.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants, as Al Jabir praised Dr. Al Qallaf's efforts and the attendees' active involvement, highlighting the course's success in achieving its objectives.
